This is a Foot Trail big on history, Stonehenge, Saxons, Normans, cathedrals, castles and forts, to the humble thatched cottages, there’s 6000 years of human stories to explore and be inspired by. And not to miss is a guided day with David at Stonehenge (included).

Explore Stonehenge & Wiltshire in brief
A self-guided independent explore style walking tour. 6 to 8 day tour options available. Choose your preferred arrival day & date.
Day 1
Time to settle in at your country inn with an optional short walk if you’d like to explore.
Day 2
Stride through ancient landscapes with tales of the Neolithic, Bronze Age and Saxon periods.
Day 3
Discover traditional thatched cottages, tales of Henry VIII, links to the great fire of London and a 19th century manor house.
Day 4
Charming hamlets, grand estates and a romantic ruined castle await on today’s trail.
Day 5
A guided tour of Stonehenge with the founders of Foot Trails.
Day 6
Explore the city of Salisbury with its iconic cathedral and Close.
Day 7
Immerse yourself in an Iron Age hill fort, ancient ramparts and castle ruins.
Day 8
Time for your onward journey, taking memories of your adventures with you.

Your daily itinerary will be customised to you and you will receive a personalised price quotation with your itinerary. As a guide our walking tours are typically between £200 – £270 per person, per night, based on 2 sharing a bedroom.
