A short video from back in May when Alastair, Becky and Emma from the Foot Trails team were out checking one of our trails in the Cotswolds. It was a peaceful day wandering along quiet country lanes, through tiny Cotswolds villages, passing by meadows with swathes of frothy white cow parsley, under Hawthorn blossoms and chestnut trees in full bloom. All in all, a perfect day's hiking in this wonderful corner of South West England.

One of the many pleasures of walking the English countryside are all the cottages you stumble across as you wander from village to village and along quiet country lanes. Thatched, tiled, brick or stone, each region has its own style, drawing on the raw materials that were available hundreds of years ago.

We love to see them peeking up over hedgerows or drystone walls, as much a part of the landscape now as the surrounding trees and hills.
