The Complete Cotswolds
Crowd free and authentic Cotswolds
The Complete Cotswolds is an inn to inn hiking & walking trail over 10 or 12 nights.
Explore two areas of the Cotswolds – the rollling wolds, classic market towns and villages characterised by sheep farming. And the Cotswolds Hills with stunning views as the landscape falls away into the River Severn valley.
Inn to Inn walking & hiking in The Cotswolds
The Cotswolds has a very special place for us here at Foot Trails, with family routes and connections here, we’ve walked and explored the land here for our whole lives.
Your trail starts in classic Cotswolds country, the town of Stow sits above the vale, once the largest sheep market in the area. The countryside around undulates, with farms and old villages dotting the landscape.
Onward to the spiritual heart of The Cotswolds and its medieval market square. Cross to the Roman side, an ancient roman road passing the town and a fabulous Roman Villa to explore.
A hike through the valley before finding yourself at the edge of The Cotswolds Escarpment. You then journey over the Cotswolds highest point to the ‘royal’ town of Winchcombe, the town sitting beneath the Cotswolds hills.
The last part of your journey takes you back over the escarpment for some wonderful views to the ridge above Moreton-in-Marsh. With its wide view it looks out north towards the midlands, and east across the ever rolling wolds.
You’ll spend 2 nights at each of our selected country inns, giving you a more relaxed pace to the hike and explore the local area before walking to your next inn.
