Bath & The Avon Valley
Stunning architecture & rolling countryside
Bath and The Avon Valley is an inn to inn walking trail over 6 or 8 nights.
If there is something such as a country city then surely Bath is it. Surrounded by wooded hills, graced by beautiful bath stone buildings, the River Avon flowing through, it’s a stunning spot.
Journey along the River Avon valley to ‘mini Bath’ to discover quiet valleys, tucked away villages, stories of mills, wool & weaving, canals and water, castles, manors & gardens.
There’s a real sense of discovery to this Foot Trail.
A blend of country and city!
The Bath & Avon Valley trail is all about giving you the sense of connection between the city, the history and stories of the area and the countryside that abounds. From mills, rivers, weavers cottages and thermal waters, this is a rich and diverse area.
The trail starts on Lord Bath’s Longleat estate, a land of woods, carefully curated views and a remoteness, a quiet start to your days ahead. The river loops around and flows, with wildlife and green pastures along its banks. There are delightful villages to find along the way with charming stone cottages and tucked away spots.
You’ll journey into the city of Bath itself to spend a few nights in Georgian Splendour. Bath needs little introduction, a worthy world heritage site; it has a wealth of history from Celtic times to the Romans. A country city surrounded by gorgeous rolling green countryside, stunning architecture and old villages.
