NEW – The 2023 Guided Tour
Walking & Hiking The Cotswolds
09 – 13 October
It was 21 years ago that David and I set out on one of our greatest adventures, starting Foot Trails. For all these years we have had the greatest pleasure of welcoming you, our guests from across the UK and around the world, showing you this special South West corner of England that we call home.
To mark and celebrate Foot Trails 21st year we wanted to offer you a celebratory guided walking experience. Based in a fantastic Cotswolds country inn with delicious food and a warm welcome, David and I look forward to welcoming you and walking the Cotswolds.
We have just 10 places available, so please do reserve yours soon to avoid disappointment. Come and walk the beautiful Cotswolds and celebrate with us!
With best wishes,

Allow us to introduce The 2023 Guided Tour..
This is a unique Foot Trails experience, taking in the sights, smells and tastes of Autumn in the Cotswolds on foot. Time out in the countryside, allowing you to connect with nature and enjoy rural English charm.
This four night guided walking tour will be based in a classic country inn on the banks of the river Windrush. The days will be led by talented storytellers and Foot Trail’s founders Alison and David Howell.
Things we love about Autumn
With fewer visitors, bonfire night celebrations, harvest festivals, crisp autumn walks and roaring log fires in our country inns, October and early to mid November are delightful times to be out walking the English countryside on our Foot Trails.
Morning mists and the rising sun’s soft glow shrouds the landscape in mystery, the silhouettes of trees, fences and bridges are like statues.
The leaves age beautifully as they explode into fiery yellows, oranges and reds. Each one floats gently to the woodland floor from the vibrant canopy above. There’s rumoured good fortune for anyone that can catch one!
The sunsets in Autumn are atmospheric, casting golden light and shadows. The perfect destination is somewhere to cosy up by an open fire, watching the dancing flames as you wait for the harvest moon and starry sky. Ideally with the comfort of a hot chocolate!
Why The Cotswolds
At Foot Trails we have a huge passion for the Cotswolds. Founders Alison and David’s families have a long history in the area. David grew up here, and many of Alison’s family still farm the county.
The Cotswolds is undoubtedly famous, but we like to show people the hidden villages and views, off the beaten track.
With it’s rich history in the wool industry, and ancient churches, there’s so much to discover in the Cotswolds while soaking up it’s country charm.
