The wonderful summer we’ve had this year is entering its final phase and the mellow, misty days of autumn are already calling. We’ve had a wonderful summer helping guests explore the lesser-known paths and trails of south west England, and are looking forward to welcoming lots more guests to our corner of the south west for some wonderful autumn hiking.Â

We’re also already planning trips for spring 2026, and daydreaming of the joy the season brings. The fresh green of the countryside as everything bursts back into life, the sound of lambs bleating in the fields, and the explosion of birdsong as migratory birds return for the summer and start looking for mates. The days are bright and cool (and getting longer) and there is colour everywhere – from cheery bluebells and yellow daffodils to bright blossoms and the frothy whites of cow parsley, hawthorne and horse chestnut blossoms. It’s simply a wonderful time to be out walking and hiking in South West England.
