We love an autumn break in the country

Book now for autumn walking trips

We love an autumn break in the country.

With fewer visitors, bonfire night celebrations, harvest festivals, crisp autumn walks and roaring log fires in our country inns, October and early to mid November are delightful times to be out walking the English countryside on our Foot Trails.

Leaves flutter and fall softly to the ground. Morning mist rolls in across the valley floor, casting a white veil over the countryside. It will lift as the day progresses, the sun burning off the mist and finding the jewelled coloured leaves on the trees. Autumn days are magical in the English countryside. When fungi grow in the cool of the woodland and we look forward to harvest festivals, bonfire night celebrations in the villages with fireworks and roaring log fires emitting the evocative smell of wood smoke when we return to our country inns after a cool crisp day on the trail.

Try these gorgeous English walking trips to lift your spirits this October and early to mid November.
