Alison and David Howell, Co-Founders
Alison
Co-Founder
Alison founded Foot Trails in 2002. Today Alison’s focus is our future direction and in creating new experiences for our guests. Alison always feels inspired and motivated reading the lovely comments and feedback from our guests.
David
Co-Founder & Trail Creator
David uses his local knowledge and love for hiking to support our team with all they need to look after our guests day to day. He also researches and writes all our walks, celebrating the beauty of rural England and nature with others.
Alastair
Senior Itinerary Consultant
Alastair uses his knowledge of our walks and country inns to plan and create bespoke itineraries for our guests. He is also on hand to provide support and updates to guests during their trips. Alastair loves to spend quality time outdoors with his family, and a good DIY project!
Deborah
Production Assistant
Deborah prepares our comprehensive Walk & Explore Boxes, and books the guests’ accommodation. She’s inspired by the beautiful villages, inns and countryside of South West England. An ideal day for Deborah would be blue skies, fluffy white clouds, sunshine and being by the sea!
Suzy
Arrangements Administration
Suzy makes each trip a reality, dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s. She also looks after the guests as they get ready for arrival, helping people to get the most from their Foot Trail. Animals, gardening, walking and making tapestry are some of the many things that make Suzy happy, preferably accompanied with some biscuits and cake!
Emma
Storyteller
Emma helps tell the story of Foot Trails, writing, editing and posting words and pictures on our website and social media platforms for guests to enjoy. Emma loves being out in the countryside, either walking local footpaths with her dog or running trails in the South West and beyond.
Maggie
Finance Assistant
Maggie helps Foot Trails with the numbers. Maggie has grown up exploring the English countryside on foot and loves a good pub.
