Wild Exmoor, Coast & Moor
This tour takes you from the rugged coast of North Somerset to the heart of Exmoor. Weaving from pebble beaches with the wash of the sea, through steep-sided river valleys to the open wild moor with its big views and coastal backdrop.
Ancient fishing villages, Victorian resorts, prehistoric standing stones and tucked-away farming communities are just some of the highlights of this fascinating trip.

Wild Exmoor, Coast & Moor in brief
A self-guided independent inn to inn walking tour. 6 and 7 night tour options available. Choose your preferred arrival day & date.
Day 1
Time to settle in at your remote country pub with an optional short walk if you’d like to explore. A dark skies nature reserve, pop outside after dinner as it gets dark!
Day 2
Over the wild moor and through a steep sided wooded river valley to an ancient market town, the heart of the moor.
Day 3
Follow upstream along the river, stunning views and a quiet peacefulness. Discover about lives lived on the moor and failed attempts to tame this land.
Day 4
The high point of the moor, from here it’s onward to the coast. Follow the river through the gorge, white water and waterfalls. At the river mouth the Severn Sea and charming Victorian resort.
Day 5
The highest point in Somerset with 360’o views, heather clad moors and the coast, a stunning scene before you. Follow all the way down the slope to the sea.
Day 6
Hike through a wooded valley to the open moor with sea views. An ancient church and Victorian garden follies await.
Day 7
Charming villages, ancient mills, a beacon point high above the coast, an old coast lookout, thatched tea rooms and a unique salt marsh with statuesque trees. It’s a lot for an 8 mile walk!
Day 8
Time for your onward journey, taking memories of your adventures with you.

Walks
7 to 9 mile walk program, or 10+ miles walk program (11 to 15 km or 16+ km). Exmoor is a wild landscape, and the terrain is a little more demanding than our other trails.
Prices
You will receive a bespoke itinerary & personalised price quotation. Tours are typically between £240 – £280 per person, per night, based on 2 sharing a bedroom. Solo’s & groups welcome.
