Walking England's Rural Canvas

Vintage Somerset Cider Trail

England has three vintage areas where soil conditions and climate are recognised as the best for growing apples for cider and all three of these vintage areas are in Somerset.

These uniquely and expertly created trails enable you to discover and walk through South Somerset’s cider producing region with this apple themed short break. Spend one day exploring one of the vintage apple orchards and taste cider that has been made with traditional methods straight from the wooden barrel.

And on your other days you will explore the other delights to rural South Somerset including villages, historic sites and green landscapes. Enjoyable walking all year round. Come in spring to admire the pink apple blossoms, in summer to unwind with leafy walks and in autumn you can enjoy the apple harvest.

Relax at a luxury country inn where award winning apple juices from Orchard Pig and award winning ciders grace the menu.
